Introduction
audiflow (the “App”) respects user privacy and is committed to protecting personal information. This policy explains how the App collects, uses, and manages information.
1. Information We Collect
The App may collect the following information to provide its services, improve quality, and conduct statistical analysis.
Usage information
- Episodes played
- Playback duration
- Playback completion rate
- Playback control events
- App usage activity
- Screen view information
- Feature usage
- App version
- OS version
- Device type
- Language settings
- Time zone
- Approximate location (country or region level, derived from IP address)
Search queries themselves are not transmitted; only the number of characters entered is recorded.
Error and diagnostic information
The App may collect the following information for crash analysis and defect investigation.
- Crash logs
- Error logs
- Stack traces
- Network error information
- App state information
- Device information
User identifiers
The App may use pseudonymized user identifiers for defect analysis and usage analytics. These identifiers do not include directly identifying personal information such as name, email address, or phone number.
2. Purposes of Use
Collected information is used for the following purposes.
- Improving app quality
- Investigating defects and analyzing failures
- Performance improvements
- Improving user experience
- Feature improvements
- Service operation and maintenance
- Statistical analysis of content usage
- Generating statistics for content providers
3. Statistics for Content Providers
The App may in the future provide usage statistics to content providers such as podcast publishers. Should that happen, the information will be limited to statistically aggregated form and will not contain information that directly identifies individuals.
4. Third-Party Services
The App may use the following third-party services.
Google Analytics for Firebase
Used for usage analytics. The App sends the usage information described in Section 1 to Google LLC together with a pseudonymous identifier assigned per installation (app instance ID). Google Analytics also collects events that its SDK records automatically, such as app launches and session starts. Collected data is deleted automatically once Google’s retention period elapses.

5. International Data Transfers
Through the third-party services described in Section 4, collected information is transmitted to servers located outside Japan, including the United States, where it is stored and processed by those providers. Each provider handles the information in accordance with its own privacy policy and applicable law.
6. Opting Out of Data Transmission
Users can stop transmission of usage information at any time from the App’s settings screen. Once stopped, Google Analytics no longer records or transmits events. However, minimal diagnostic information necessary for analyzing critical failures may still be transmitted.
7. Advertising and Tracking
The App does not serve advertisements. It does not access advertising identifiers (IDFA or Advertising ID), and it does not track behavior across other companies’ apps or websites. Collected information is never used for advertising purposes or provided to third parties for such purposes.
8. Personal Information
The App does not collect directly identifying personal information such as name, address, or phone number for usage analytics or error analysis purposes.
9. Third-Party Disclosure
Except as required by law, the App does not sell or provide user information to third parties, with the exception of transmissions to the third-party service providers described in this policy and the provision of statistically aggregated information to content providers.
10. Security
The App implements reasonable safeguards to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of collected information.
11. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated from time to time as necessary.
